SCUML registration is mandatory for all Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBPs) in Nigeria as required by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) under the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act.
It is also a prerequisite for opening and maintaining corporate bank accounts for eligible businesses. Entities that require SCUML registration include car dealers, jewelers, real estate agents, hotels, casinos, supermarkets, accountants, auditors, consultants, NGOs, law firms, and more.
